Bicycle tune-up/maintenance help

Is there anyone out there who tinkers with bikes? Willing to look at my daughter's bike (in Maplewood) which needs a bit of help to get it road worthy again? Crappy bike, hardly used. Simply will need a few tweaks to get it usable for grocery shopping and small errands for her move to Boston. Thanks in advance!

Highly recommend the guys at High Gear in Millburn, who work wonders with all kinds of bikes. Push it up the ramp in the back to the repair shop.

I used to work on bikes. When do you need it looked over before?

If rowerg can't get to it, it will be a whole lot of peace of mind if you bring the bike to High Gear. They are thorough and priced reasonably. In the past, I worked as a mechanic in bike shops. Most bikes that come in the shop have more wrong with them than customers think, but that doesn't mean major. It means if you think you just need brakes and gears adjusted, you may be missing lubrication or a loose handlebar or something else. A thorough checkup will keep your daughter safe and comfortable for a while. And bring the bike in every six months. There are good shops in Boston, too.

rowerg - if possible, before Sept. 8th. If this is something you could manage, PM me and we can discuss. Thanks! For the price we originally paid for the bike, it may not be worth having a "professional" overhaul, to be honest.

For some reason I cannot pm you, your user name won't take. Drop me a text at six zero nine- 3five6-2603

I am around this weekend. Could take a look at it.

Call Daniel the Bike Guy ... Used him last summer. Very reasonable. Lives in Maplewood. Will pick-up your bikes ...
