Anyone watching Preacher on AMC?

Binged it the other night ...

I have.  Still on the fence about it.  It has promise but its not great (yet).

I am, I have read most of the comic book. Enjoying the show so far, despite the changes. I don't want to say to much, not sure if you have read the comic book.

Is this going to be spoiler friendly?

I hope?

No. No spoilers ... Let's respect a one week cone of silence. I think that's plenty ...

Binge? It is only three episodes so far, right? We are loving it, and I particularly love the Irish vampire Cassidy. I'm intrigued to see where this goes, and I have not seen the graphic novels it is based on.

Also, I say we make this thread very spoiler friendly. If people want to read the thread, let them go watch the show and get cut up. What is the point of having a thread if you can't talk about what the show has done so far?

I thought the spoiler comment implied that the writer was going to divulge things from the comic book, i.e. get ahead of the show.   I have no problem with the discussion keeping pace with the show.

Ah, that is possible. Granted, that would be a bummer.

I was thinking about all the folks I know on Facebook who spend a good part of every Monday and sometimes Tuesday screeching "Don't talk about Game of Thrones, I haven't seen it yet!" I have little sympathy for those who can't keep up when I'm dying to discuss the latest developments. smile

If you like Preacher, it seems to me you'd love Ash vs. Evil Dead on AMC.  Funnier, scarier, bloodier and faster moving.  It's a sequel of sorts to the cult favorite Evil Dead movies of the 80s.  My wife, who generally hates horror and blood, loves it, which is some indication of its appeal.

Watched 103 tonight.

It was "OK" ...

Discuss.

I think that sums it up efficiently.

Sometime back, someone loaned me the first trade paperback of the (very highly regarded) Preacher comic series, and I couldn't get into it at all. I was hoping the change to a TV format would make me see what I was missing in the comic. My intention was to give the usual 3-episode trial period I allow for any new series I'm trying out, but I simply could not bring myself to watch a third installment.

Years ago there was a waiter at the Village Trattoria who was, as I often remarked to my wife, always moving but never doing anything. I kind of feel the same way about this show, and the comic before it. Lots going on, but nothing happening.
