Anyone else sorely in need of a haircut?

I was already well overdue before the lockdown.

Should I dare try to cut it myself? The couple of youtube videos I've watched so far were not encouraging.

for short even cuts it shouldn't be too hard.   don't they make clippers you can set to a specific length and then you just 'shave'  and it leaves that length....i don't know the max length you can leave, but for a male if its just an inch, thats not bad and by the time it grows a couple inches, places will hopefully be re open..

Lotsa sympathy here!  Try "just a little off the sides/bottom" if that's the part that's bothering you?  Hat/bandana/hood to cover either what's there now or what you get after experimenting?

Take before/after pix so you can show us if successful??

Yes. My appointment was for last week. At my last appt I asked for some layers for the first time in probably more than a decade. (My hair is medium long.) The timing for the layers could not have been worse. Trimmed my own “wisps” (woman who cuts my hair insists after about 30 you should no longer call them bangs) this morning. Eh. Then again, I realized when I brushed my hair before bed Friday that it was the first time I’d used a comb or brush since my shower that morning. (One tiny plus of lockdown?)

I had a hair cut 3 weeks ago.  This was a first time cut from that lady.  She misunderstood my instructions, so I was nearly scalped.

It will take me another 8-10 weeks to get back to usual 'shaggy' do.

You are probably grateful for that now, tomcat! I wish my last haircut had been much more extreme -- we will all be super-shaggy by the time we come out of our burrows.

that's exactly what I'm afraid of.

My barber is self-quarantining in Springfield. I'm in trouble...

-s.

I had mines cut on Thursday. The babes of Maplewood better look out. I'm hot.

I get my haircut at a place in Hoboken. At the supermarket over the weekend I ran into someone that works there. I said "you guys're closed, right?"

He said, "yes, we are but when we re-open, man, we're gonna be busy!"

BTW, I stopped shaving when I started WFH. Looking very grubby and scruffy. So far, haven't been on any work video conference calls. Just audio.

I cut mine this morning, just the front and the sides over the ears.  It looks slightly better than if I stuck my head in a blender, but not nearly as stylish as when the hairdresser does it

I don't think I want to try cutting my own hair.

I just have to find where I left my FlowBee.

May I just comment that my grey ‘halo’ is more a dirty white ring of unconfidence???

I soooo need professional assistance with applying dye to the roots of my thick thirsty wavy &long hair! I’m not even bothering about the contrast-coloured streak. (And no way will I ask The Husband to assist - I don’t even trust him to paint a wall!)

I guess we're about a week away from discovering everybody's natural hair color.
