Did you know the rate of heroin overdose in New Jersey is 3x the national average? Drug overdose is the leading cause of accidental death in New Jersey. The Social Action Committee is pleased to offer this year’s installment of the Sadie Margulies Social Justice lecture series: The Opioid Epidemic: What Every Adult Needs to Know. This year’s event is a community forum for adults of all ages to learn about the opioid epidemic which is indiscriminately claiming lives of the young and old. Please join us on Sunday morning, March 25th, to hear our panel of experts, including representatives from the office of Drug Free NJ, the South Orange Police Department, a recovered addict, and the parent of a recovered addict as they discuss the realities of this widespread epidemic. Doors open at 9:30 a.m./Program starts at 10:00 a.m. There is no cost, but we ask that you please RSVP so that we have enough food.
