Maplewood/South Orange Professionals in Transition

Northern NJ Professionals in Transition will have two great sessions in October. We gather at Maplewood Library, 51 Baker Street, Maplewood, NJ. Our meetings begin at 10:00 a.m. and run until 12 noon. On Monday, October 15th, our presenter will be Sumana Rangachar, who will be speaking on “Starting with the End in Mind,” based on the 2nd of Steven Covey\'s “Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.” Sumana will share about her own career transition and then put the group through an exercise in which each attendee can each explore their own transitions. (If time permits, she may continue, relating Covey\'s habit of defining a mission statement.) Ms. Rangachar was a practicing attorney until 2009 when she decided to explore careers outside of law that suited her personality, strengths, skills and goals. She decided to become an agent at NY Life Insurance Co. because she found that this fulfilled many of her ambitions. She worked hard because it was enjoyable, and got promoted early this year to the position of sales manager/partner at the New Jersey General Office in Saddle Brook, NJ. Her new role allows her to select, develop and support new agents, and enjoy the growth & success of each of them! Save the date: On Monday, October 29th, corporate trainer and facilitator Leemor Ellman will return to lead a session on “speed networking.” This concept has proven to be very valuable in helping individuals make many quality contacts when they meet people. Again, the group will receive the opportunity for a lot of hands-on practice in this vital skill. Please join us.
