Yom Hashoah / Holocaust Commemoration at Congregation B\'nai Israel Holocaust Remembrance at Congregation B\'nai Israel in Millburn Congregation B\'nai Israel (CBI) will commemorate Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, with a special program on Sunday evening, April 12 at 7:00 p.m. The program, called \"In Their Own Words: A Family\'s Holocaust Story,\" will feature a presentation by Martin Weiss, a Holocaust survivor who will share the story of his family’s experience under the Nazis and Hungarians in World War II, including deportation to the Munkacs Ghetto, Auschwitz-Birkenau and Mauthausen concentration camp. The event is free and open to the community. Martin Weiss shares his eyewitness accounts as a member of the Survivors Speakers Bureau of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Yom Hashoah is the annual day of commemoration in Israel and in countries around the world to remember the approximately six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust. This year, the actual day of commemoration starts at sundown on Wednesday, April through April 16. Congregation B\'nai Israel is located at 160 Millburn Avenue in Millburn.
