"Supporting the Syrian refugee families living in New Jersey, the Ethical Culture Society of Essex County is sponsoring a fund-raising elaborate supper on Saturday, May 20 to be held in the backyard home of longtime Society member, E. Betty Levin in Millburn at 4:30 PM. The event will also serve to demonstrate the culinary skills of these talented individuals. The cost is $45 per person with attendance limited to 50; reservations must be made in advance by phoning the Ethical Culture office by Saturday, May 13, (973) 763-1905 and confirmed by receipt of check made to the Society and mailed to 516 Prospect St., Maplewood 07040. The date will coincide with the unusual azalea display cascading down the rear incline of the property. Note: No wine will be served as the Islam religion prohibits alcohol where their religious adherents are present. The Ethical Culture Society is a progressive non-theist religion whose goal is to create a more humane world and to bring out the best in others and thus in oneself. For further information, call Ms. Levin, (973) 763-1033."
