Frida Kahlo’s paintings illustrate the anguish and passion of a fascinating and complicated life. This lecture will acquaint you with Frida, the Mexican and feminist icon, through a comprehensive examination of her works, especially emphasizing her engagement with the natural world. This lecture can be taken as preparation for a trip to the New York Botanical Garden for its major exhibition, Frida Kahlo’s Garden, or enjoyed on its own.
