Free Orchestral Concert by Society of Musical Arts

Society of Musical Arts presents a free orchestral concert at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 550 Ridgewood Road, Maplewood, 4 pm, Sunday, October 14, 2012. The concert theme, “Eastern European Masterpieces,” presents piano soloist Irina Nuzova, with orchestral accompaniment in Chopin’s Piano Concerto no. 1 in E minor. The orchestra will also present works by Mussorgsky and Dvorak. Maestro Stephen Culbertson of Montclair will conduct. This concert will honor the memory of one of the society’s founding members and past president, Edward R. Appel of Maplewood, who passed away this July.
