The Pierro Gallery’s current open exhibition, known as Extrapolate: Suggestions of Tony Smith, features nine artists who have been directly influenced by Tony Smith. Four of these artists, Frank Gavere, Tom McGlynn, Karen Margolis, and Ethan Greenbaum, will be attending the Artist Talk on Thursday, October 25 at 7 p.m. to present and discuss their artwork, and answer questions. The evening is moderated by Sandy Martiny and will conclude with refreshments to celebrate the closing of the exhibition. It will take place at The Pierro Gallery, located at the Baird Center on 5 Mead Street in South Orange. There is no cost to attend and everyone is invited. Along with these four speaking artists, the exhibition includes artwork from Sarah Bednarek, Michael Clyde Johnson, Gary Petersen, Kim Schoenstadt, and Kati Vilim. The last day to view the work of all nine Smith-inspired artists is on Saturday, October 27, when the exhibition officially ends. Extrapolate: Suggestions of Tony Smith is an exhibition born in the home town of American sculptor, visual artist, and architect Tony Smith (1912-1980). The show celebrates Smith’s legacy in the work of artists today and coincides with the 100th anniversary of his birth. The show runs from September 15- October 27 at the Pierro Gallery, located in the Baird Center, 5 Mead Street, South Orange, NJ.
